The current Chairman of the Czech Chamber of Authorized Engineers and Technicians (ČKAIT), Ing. Robert Špalek, has been actively raising awareness and urging the professional community to address the longstanding issue of risky prefabricated roof trusses.
“Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, where further failures of this roof structure type could pose a direct threat to human lives, ČKAIT has informed the state administration. Subsequent discussions between the Ministry of Industry and Trade and CKAIT have led to an agreement for the Chamber to assist in resolving this problem.”
“We understand that this endeavor is both financially and organizationally demanding, but it’s imperative to consider that while we’ve avoided human casualties in two prior accidents, the next time might not be as fortunate.”
