Leading Slovak academic and conference guarantor for “Structural Collapses 2024,” Associate Professor Ing. Martin Moravčík, PhD (Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Žilina), in collaboration with Ing. František Bahleda, PhD, and Ing. Petra Bujňáková, PhD (both from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Žilina), has published an article on ebeton.cz titled “Causes of the Collapse and Reconstruction of the Prestressed Bridge in Podbiel.” The article details the diagnostic process and security measures proposed for a bridge constructed in 1956, which was among the first post-tensioned prefabricated bridges in former Czechoslovakia. The ebeton.cz portal is an independent source of information on concrete, reinforced concrete structures, and concrete building materials. It also publishes the magazine Beton for the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
