Reliability of post-tensioned trusses of industrial halls
In the Czech Republic, the reliability of post-tensioned roof trusses of industrial halls from 1960-1980, which reach or exceed their service life, is a current problem. Connecting the parts with prestressing ropes, which often have not been sufficiently grouted, leads to corrosion of the reinforcement and in extreme cases to accidents.
Diagnostic investigations revealed problems particularly in the area of reinforcement anchorage and extreme tension diagonals. Nearly 1 750 probes were carried out during the surveys, which confirmed the deficiencies, particularly in the anchorage of the prestressing reinforcement.
